master planning
Veris has special expertise in large-scale plans for properties and estates. Our holistic design process centers on a thorough inventory of existing conditions and provides you with a comprehensive design for your entire landscape that can be implemented at once or installed in phases. We will work with you to create a phased construction plan that will suit both your budget and your needs.

new homes
New homes can provide unique challenges, since they may possess limited to no existing vegetation and may require remedial soil and site work in order to provide new landscaping with an adequate growing environment. At Veris Design, we will work with you to ensure that your new landscaping fits environmental conditions, complements your home and suits your lifestyle.

historic & existing homes
Whether your home is a twenty year old ranch or a century old farmhouse, we recognize that context is important in determining the style of your landscaping. We do not believe in a "cookie-cutter" style that fits every home and are skilled in developing a unique look that fits seamlessly within the architecture and context of your space. The hallmark of a Veris landscape is its natural and established look, as though it has "always been there".

design consultation
If you need some expert advice but are not ready to pursue a full design, we are happy to visit your property to consult with you on a wide range of issues. Our emphasis is on solving design problems (e.g. suggestions for deer-proof plantings or some ideas for creating and extending seasonal interest) but we can also advise you on horticultural topics, such as bed preparation and winter protection for tender plants.

community design
Rachel Blistein, the owner of Veris Design, has a background in civic, commercial and community design. Her graduate degree research and early professional experience focused on community-based design and planning. Ms. Blistein's background and experience in master planning enables her to tackle large projects that span diverse and large areas and user groups. Whether you are developing a master plan for a church campus, planning a memorial garden or designing community vegetable plots, we can help to facilitate and guide the process.

project management
From bidding and estimation to installation oversight, we manage all aspects of your landscape construction. In this way, we are able to offer you a continuum of care that flows from design to installation to post-project follow-up. Veris Landscape Design has a unique insider's perspective on the local landscape industry and has developed first hand insight into the qualities and strengths of individual firms. We care about the quality of your installed design and can serve as your advisor and advocate in selecting a qualified contractor and in ensuring that your project meets our high aesthetic and technical standards.
