Contemporay Landscapes
Garden Rooms
Using angled views, wood trellis screens and carefully selected plantings, this backyard was transformed from a small, narrow lot with very little privacy to a series of garden rooms with space for outdoor dining, the homeowner's potted bonsai collection and a small stone fountain. Existing concrete pavers were re-used and surrounded with crushed Michigan Stone to form a stepping stone walkway and patio with lawn pavers. A small wood arbor serves as a focal element from the front yard and creates an attractive transition from the side to the back yard. Climbing evergreen and flowering vines were planted at the base of each trellis to provide additional screening and visual interest.
